Bayshore’s House of Blues – aka Memphis, is a blue merle australian shepherd dog. Memphis is from AKC CH Bayshore’s Bumble Bee’s first litter of Aussie puppies. Memphis left us on 8/22/19 to Pancreatic Cancer which is rare in dogs and even rarer in Aussies but not rare enough to take my best friend, our Officer Merle of the Leash Police and the heart of our crew from us. Typing this litterally takes a knife to my heart every keystroke. On one hand I cannot imagine a God that would take this sweet happy healthy dog from me but on the other I hope that there is a God so I can one day be back with him. The pain of losing him cannot be described. Less than a month before he died he went in for his Senior Canine Wellness check and was the picture of health. I still am unable to believe he is gone. Everyone who met him loved him – I am shattered beyond belief.
I hope your Momma Bee was waiting for you and you are sqeaking balls while waiting for me and your family to join you. Not having you under my desk or begging to play ball just “one more” okay a thousand times reminds me of your loss. Your “babies” are sitting in the toy box waiting for you to carry them yet they will lay there waiting never to be squeaked. Best of Dogs, Best of Aussies – we had so much left to do, more loose dogs to reprimand on walking trails. You deserved a long life yet you were born with an expiration date nothing could fix. I wish I even had one more day, one more hour, one more minute with you Memmie.

It is no surprise to anyone that knows the story of the whelping of Bummy’s litter that Memphis is staying here. He is what I call my miracle puppy – he was the last puppy to 
be born and behind the puppy who was stuck and lost as a result. My vet said that it was a miracle he was still alive, that he simply willed himself to live because based on all signs he should have died. I held him in my arms as he woke up from anesthesia and he took a piece of my soul. He is a male version of his mother Bummy down to the majority of his markings. Of course he had to add blue eyes to the package just to make my heart melt a bit more!
While people always comment on his movie star good looks – he is more than a handsome pelt and blue eyes. He is an incredible mover and very correct – we have high hopes for him as he matures. Aussies are like a fine wine, they just get better with time!
Memphis has completed the AKC STAR puppy program and has started agility training. He is a definite natural and is already in the top of the class and our instructor is as pleased as I am. He is also working sheep now and will be competing at herding trials when his schedule permits. Our performance instructor says he is a rare talent and expects great things – so do we!
The best thing is his love of life! Memphis is always happy and in the ring he loves to show off. He has tremendous reach and drive – and people always comment they cannot believe how correct he is while still showing that moving stride. He proves form and function when you watch him work sheep he shows that same stride while working. I truly believe he will be the one I compete for Most Versitle Aussie. He never stops trying! There is no quit in him.
Memphis is now an AKC Champion – thank you to Lenny Brown for doing such a great job with *The Merle*! Memphis will now be focusing on performance events!
Also, Memphis is a natural bob tail – meaning he was born with no tail. Most of the litter was born without a full tail. Don’t forget to like Memphis on Facebook!
